samos® PRO – Compact safety control

samos® PRO is the smallest modular safety control of its class. A variety of safe function modules enables the setup of complex safety applications. With samos® PRO modules you can monitor all kinds of safety sensors. samos® PRO is able to process up to 96 safe inputs and 48 safe outputs at the same time. The modules are extremely compact (22.5 mm wide), so that you are able to implement a complete programmable safety solution starting with a construction width of 45 mm.

The control system is programmed intuitively and easily using samos® PLAN, a programming tool with graphical user interface for configuration and parameterization of inputs and outputs as required. No special knowledge of PLC programming languages is required. The finished application program is saved on the removable program media samos® MEMORY directly in the system and will thus be available inside the control cabinet even after replacement.

The samos® PRO system is always perfectly suitable in Industrial Ethernet environments and in fieldbus systems using the PROFIBUS DP or CANopen protocol. The relevant gateways enable trouble-free bidirectional data exchange.

Series SMA – Safe signal sensing

Reliable safety solutions start with signal sensing. Our magnetic SMA safety sensors sense the positions of protective doors or machine components without contact. They work reliably even during strong vibrations or in rough environments. Their high degree of protection (IP67) makes them an equally good choice for industries with high hygiene requirements such as food processing, packaging or the pharmaceutical industry.

The built-in protection against manipulation provides additional safety. Due to their compact design and the round or alternatively square shape the sensors easily adapt to any system environment.

Series 4000 – Universal safety relays

Do not compromise on safety for man and machine. Safety relays from Series 4000 can monitor numerous important safety sensors such as emergency-stop buttons or protective doors, light curtains and light barriers, two-hand applications, valves or limit-value switches. The Series 4000 program comprises safe basic devices with and without timer function and additional contact expansion relays, thus covering the entire range of important safety functions. All devices are characterized by their excellent technical performance features, a compact design and variable connection options.

The Series 4000 safety relays guarantee not only optimal safety for people and systems, but also economic and flexible use in daily industrial applications.

samos® – Safety modules

A classical safety switching device does not provide enough functions, but a programmable safety control is just too much? Our modular system samos® closes this gap. Even one single samos® module provides numerous application options and replaces multiple individual switching devices. While the safety task grows, samos® is able to grow, too – the compact modules are connected following the modular principle and are easily mounted to a standard mounting rail.

It is even easy to parameterize the modules: you will not need any complex software; just set the desired safety function directly on the device using a screwdriver - and read them from their, too. A clear and simple solution. With samos® you can monitor up to 30 safety sensors and integrate them through various gateways into common control systems such as fieldbus systems or Industrial Ethernet.

An investment in samos® pays off with only a few safety circuits. Even though the requirements increase, you will still be able to count on the safety system, because samos® is modular and flexible.

Emergency Stops

Designed for use in most machines, SNH Series Emergency Stop Pushbuttons give a safe signal to the machine control to stop any dangerous action. Ideal for use with Series 4000, samos or samosPRO, the SNH series provides a modular system which can be adapted perfectly to the users requirements.

A range of 8 operator elements can be combined with 12 different contact blocks which are built with one or more normally closed (NC) or normally open (NO) contacts. All contact blocks are equipped with screw terminals. Wieland offer a number of completely assembled emergency stop pushbuttons for the most common applications. For mounting the emergency pushbutton direct on the machine, a suitable housing is available.
